Fame is heightened attention. So if
you think you don't need fame, can you say
you don't need attention or love? It's just
a matter of degree.
But,
of course, not all attention is loving attention,
as we all learn very early on. So...
FAME..
ATTENTION... Can't live with it, can't live
without it. So you might as well go for it.
Let
the powers that be place their bets. Let all
the warmth and glare of attention that accompanies
publicity storm the gates of heaven and hell.
Give the wheel of fortune a mighty spin. And
let the chips of public opinion fall where
they may.
Afraid
your public image will destroy you or be destroyed?
Just keep in mind the useful German saying:
"Once your reputation is ruined, you
can live quite freely."
